S18e3 live reactions!!
Spoilers…obviously
i have…frankly been avoiding thinking about this episode and the plot and the pain the entire week
i’m still so upset, I haven’t wrapped my head around it… not sure i want to watch the episode that’ll solidify it in my reality…
can’t believe will went through the s7 finale for this to happen….
here we go, gosh I’m going to cry, aren’t i?
oh man, they’re making us recap this??
oh fuck, this SONG???
they are doing flashbacks??? DAMN, this hurts
THIS IS NOT FAIR I ALREADY MADE IT THROUGH LISTENING TO THIS SONG THIS WEEK
and she has to parent alone :(
it does seem exactly like Tebecca to handle this in a funny, sarcastic, snarky way. Which is kinda comforting…
greenvez is helping a little
i kinda can’t believe that they have to work when Will was a best friend of them — Luke and Tara at least.
she lied, actually. she wasn’t in shock
also is it just me, or is this episode moving wayyy too quickly
honestly - to make Voit likeable, charming, charismatic is actually not a bad way to do this season
oh gosh, they’re making Rossi re live S16?? And that bunker?? Poor bb
yes, Elias, he’s mad at you. he’s been mad at you for about a year now
gosh, AJ, her voice when saying this quote makes this so much more powerful, her acting is going to be so good in this episode… so heartbreakingly good
it was a beautiful wedding - and literally one of my favourite episodes :((
she’s going to breakdown later this episode or something, isn’t she? She’s holding all of this in. Like the quote said, she’s holding everyone. And the girls are holding her.
lol JJ to Penelope, i love these women so much
oh god, I forgot it was Michael’s birthday :(
she has to re-live this every fucking second
can’t they….profile Will and find it? Not to seem clinical about it, but maybe that’ll help? Or maybe it’s too hard, and they were too close to him
gosh, even referring to him in the past tense is killing me
does Elias…know why they’re doing this and who they think he is?
I LOVE GREENVEZ SO FUCKING MUCH. I love this bromance
and of course, our penelope girl is there
i feel like penelope should NOT be on speaker
are you trying to make him jealous, penelope?
this love triangle is literally going to wear me out; i hope to goodness they’re not soft-launching greencia this season
Linda Lavin!!
ma’am, this is NOT what our Jaje needs right now
holy fuck lady, leave JJ ALONE
i hope and think this is just because she’s grieving and JJ’s the only person she can put her anger and sadness on
“agent tyler green” made me smile ngl
ty is the best person to support Ramona
oh goodness, JJ, please let them support you. i’m so sorry :(
damn, that scared me
“co-worker’s spouse” is diabolical
OH FUCK, THEY’RE GOING TO PUT JJ THROUGH IT…. S9 flashbacks anyone?
oh dang MAMA BEAR JJ
well…shit
why is that pan to penelope and em borderline comedic
no okay so what i find interesting here is that even, in this state, elias is still a fantastic reader of human behavior - that part of him hasn’t changed
aww, Auntie P is so cute
the more that they draw this out, the more i think elias is faking this…
yeah, because he was seeing sydney at the same time he was with ramona
well… he may be who he ‘used’ to be….i feel like we still don’t know yet tbh
zach’s acting is impressive in this episode, he is managing to make us feel bad for Elias
oh…heck, whoopsy ramona
no sir, they are not…, and yess… they are
i feel like… if this is real, this is what elias keeps hidden - esp in s16 and 17, the person he tries to be and the fear he has deep down that people are scared of him, oh who he is behind the facade and he was trying to avoid that AT ALL costs
i love papa pasta
ok i dreaded this episode, but it’s been my favourite so far, they’ve done it really well
yay hotch mention! derek mention! spence mention! can’t wait to see him soon!
WAIT SHUT UP IT’S MATTHEWWW, SPENCYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - i thought it was episode 4!! IMBD LIED TO ME SHUT THE FUCK UP
hi Spence <3 i think this is going to be healing for all of us ❤️🩹
wait it is this that might make me cry
i kinda love that he looks the EXACT same
i’m watching that again
he’s the one she’s going to breakdown in front of
the pan to lukey post garcia’s speech!
wait okay this episode is everything
no, jj, please don’t blame yourself
wait this may actually break me
she’s talking to him
oh my goodness, AJ is going to make me cry this is NOT OK
they’re not going to have spence for just these 2 minutes, right? please tell me not just these 2 minutes
yeah it happened - i’m officially crying
the camera shot of luke, penelope and tyler walking off together is diabolical
ok, Spence was the perfect person to hold her here
why are post-funeral soirées always held at penelope’s house
what is this soft-launching of penelope, and tyler
ohhhhh…this is emily’s house
i love that she’s being authentic with everyone, she’s being open and vulnerable
yeah, i still don’t understand killing off krystall
is it bad that i know every episode these quotes are coming from :( i miss you, will, so fucking much
oh god, poor henry
yeah, so that episode tore me apart into a million pieces
I’m still not happy that will is gone, but it was beautiful, it was done SO DAMN well, and AJ deserves everything
like i kinda almost understand why they wrote will’s death … it allows for SO MUCH character development, not ONLY for JJ but for penelope, penelope and tyler, penelope and luke, dave, tebecca
the only thing i’m mad about is that spence coming back was only for 2 minutes and MGG had like…2 lines lol, but idk maybe there’s reason
dang, okay but this was my favourite episode so far
and with that, sitting here with a wounded heart that’s on its way to healing, i’m signing off
see y’all next week for 18x4

bisummers replied to your post “This is all my fault, Tara thinks in a desperate panic, now more...”
Yoooo what is this?? The x has no link, is there more?
Whoopsie daisy, the copy/paste didn’t stick. Thanks for letting me know, link should be fixed and available here.
It’s just the novel-length (!!!) Buffy fanfic I started in 2008 and have finally gotten around to finishing. It’s gen, w/t, takes place right where S7 starts and fixes everything. Featuring: a crazed vampire, witches, a vengeance demon, Key, Slayer, Watcher, carpenter, nerd, gods, and lots of angst that hopefully breaks your heart before putting it back together again.
#bisummers#Punchy replies#80k - we started from the bottom NOW WE'RE HERE#CAN YOU BELIEVE IT#anyway I think it's pretty good give it a shot maybe I've poured my life into it nbd

This may seem like an odd question, but how do you think destiel originated in the narrative? Was it always written in? Or do you think it was the chemistry between misha and jensen that instigated it? (Or maybe some other reason...?) I'm kind of curious how Jensen, a seriously good actor, would let the "eyesex" we see just happen accidentally... There had to be some level of intentionality in the early seasons, right? Idk, im sure there's a lot we cant know there, but im curious what you think
Hi there! And first off, I think I need to stamp a big flashing disclaimer label at the top of this one, because I see a lot of well-intentioned but often cringingly misinformed or outright stabs in the dark or assumptions presented as “obvious fact,” and heck...
I am not affiliated with the staff of the show. I don’t know what the inside of any of the writers’ or showrunners’ heads look like, you know? All I know is what I’ve heard from their own mouths over the years, which I’ve tried to piece together logically. I’m not here to present this as some sort of “document of absolute, unassailable fact,” but “this is what logic would lead me to believe personally.”
But there are some important facts to bear in mind while asking oneself how destiel came to be, and how (and why) it evolved.
First off, there’s this assumption which is arguably incorrect that Kripke began Supernatural from the pilot episode with some Grand Vision of a complete five season arc. And he himself has made numerous statements invalidating that belief. We know for a fact that his “original vision” for the show boiled down to “star wars in truck stop america” where two plucky ghost hunters drove around confronting urban legends and myths that were real in their universe. I mean, just look at the first half of s1. It’s all MotW style episodes that lay out the groundwork of the universe’s mythology.
At the start of the series, Demons were so far above the Winchesters’ pay grade, and Kripke joked about how he would never introduce Angels as part of that universe. It was a running theme in the writers’ room from the start of the series. No angels.
And then the writers’ strike happened, leaving them with a truncated s3 and no room to write themselves out of the corner they’d backed themselves into. Dean landed in Hell, and Kripke relented, with “okay, angels, but only if they’re dicks.”
I think it was likely only part of the way into s4 where Kripke stopped fearing that they might or might not get a renewal for s5 when he set about the whole Apocalypse Arc, with 5.22 as a theoretical end of the series. He has said this himself, that it was Misha joining the show that finally gave him a little breathing room to plan for the future of the series in this way.
And remember also that Misha was originally only scripted and contracted to appear in three episodes. At the beginning of s4, even Kripke hadn’t planned out the fate of his universe beyond that.
So while viewers saw 4.01 and the barn scene and immediately began shipping the thing, because that’s what shippers do, I don’t believe that Castiel was (even in Kripke’s wildest imagination) scripted to take on such a large role in canon.
So while Shipper Zero (waves hi at @k-vichan) was already making a case for destiel, Kripke was still focused on making the ratings to even THINK about planning a two season arc to stop the apocalypse. It just so happened that Castiel-- a character that Kripke had never intended to write (NO ANGELS!)-- became the hook on which his vision for the theoretical end run of his little series hung.
From his first appearance, it was clear that Castiel’s closest tie was with Dean. He pulled Dean out of Hell, and as we see unfold over the course of s4, Cas had been charged by Heaven to essentially shepherd Dean through all the necessary paces to make sure that Heaven’s will was served. Even Cas had been misled on what Heaven’s true objectives were, leading to that HUGE moment in 4.22 where Cas was forced to choose a side, and because of Dean’s influence, he rejected Heaven and chose Humanity.
Now, I don’t believe that was written as some sort of great romantic gesture, you know? Because we all know that despite what Dean and Cas struggle through together over the rest of s5, Cas’s duty returns to Heaven as soon as the apocalypse is thwarted. If Kripke’s “original vision” for the end of s5 had stood as the series end, that would’ve been the last time that Dean ever saw Cas. So... not exactly the stuff of shipper dreams, you know?
But Kripke passed the reins to Sera Gamble and s6 marched onward. The intent was to write Castiel out permanently, and thanks to Ben Edlund and 6.20 for giving Cas a voice before his inevitable demise, we end up with this bit of canonical personal betrayal and heartbreak between Dean and Cas.
Granted, going in to s6, Gamble was planning for and writing a single season arc, because she no longer had that assumption of continuing past s6. I think a lot of the romantic tropey stuff in s6 only slipped in because there was the belief at the time that a) Castiel wasn’t intended to survive the season and this is all swell but it’s never going to amount to anything but Manpain for Dean, and b) there was no guarantee they’d even be picked up for s7 to have to deal with the consequences of these choices anyway.
but then... whoopsie... they had s7 to deal with. Including spiraling ratings. By 7.17 when Cas miraculously came back, I think they’d sort of written themselves into this particular corner. Yeah, choices were made in how Cas’s return happened, but after 15 episodes of Dean mourning Cas (and Bobby, and pretty much everything else in his life up to and including Sam by 7.17), the one thing he got back first was Cas. And Cas was the key to beginning to rebuild Dean’s entire life, starting with Sam. And yet... in the same breath Cas returned Sam to him, Cas also disappeared into his own head. He was RIGHT THERE, but he had nothing else to give to Dean right then. All of that led into the buildup to s8, and I think that was really the point at which the narrative began treating Dean and Cas’s relationship as something different, and something more serious.
I’ve been watching early s8 for the last two days, and here’s a little snippet from my angst-ridden chat with lizbob this morning:
mittensmorgulI hate this. Cas, confused: So you think this was your fault?I.e. the moment when it stopped being just Dean and Cas preventing themselves from finishing a conversation, and the narrative itself took over preventing them from finishing a conversation.
mittensmorgulIt may have begun because it was starting to get implausible that they were just that stubborn about talking to one another honestly and openly, but whoopsie that actually made their relationship issues structural to the narrative
elizabethrobertajonesYeah, Ms Tran is like HEY HOW DAREYOU CAN'T FINISH A CONVERSATIONBEEP BEEP
mittensmorguland then in a few more minutes it's Interrupting Moose's turn
elizabethrobertajonesknock knock
elizabethrobertajoneswho's the-INTERRUPTING MOOSE
mittensmorguloh noooooo... go away mooseman! STOP INTERRUPTING.NO SAM, THEY ARE VERY NOT OKAY
elizabethrobertajones:<
And their issues went from being a sort of sidebar to the actual narrative structure of the series and became inextricably linked with the larger narrative.
So, fun as it is to go back through the entire series and look for all the destiel along the way, I think that’s most likely when it became a factor that drove the plot, rather than something secondary to the main plot, at least from a structural perspective.
And now, after s13 and going into s14, their relationship and feelings toward one another have become foundational to the actual cosmic structure in their universe. Dean’s grief was powerful enough for Jack to ride across dimensions into the Empty, where even God was unable to tread? Yeah, that’s cosmic. And now Cas is in a similar position dealing with a cosmic, interdimensional dilemma focused on Dean. I mean... it’s literally the foundation of the narrative structure of s13 and s14. Not only are the writers taking their relationship seriously, they’re using it to support the rest of the narrative.
I think this is kinda what you asked, at least? I’ve been typing for a really long time now. D:

ok ive had at least three people ask hwat the fucking context is for this image and the answer to that is. primordial monster souls. this is the season that the whole aborted apocalypse thign really starts biting cas in the ass because half the angels in heaven want to kickstart the apocalypse again adn the other half want free will so.
to win the bigass war that's started up in heaven cas makes a deal with a demon to open the gates of purgatory and absorb all the souls in it except whoopsies! maybe taking the essence of thousands of ancient beings older than the earth itself is a bad thing. and it drives him a little insane and the leviathans start taking over his body and kill him. and that's the story of how cas was dead for like half a season in s7

Star VII: Book 1, Chapter 3
[Read on Google docs] [S7 tag]
“Marooned on a strange alien moon for as long as any can remember, a menagerie of animals from Earth’s long history live in tense harmony among the tropical jungles and deserts of Star VII. Fierce, tyrannic Dragons march though the underbrush, Leviathans dwell in the seas, and Wyverns hunt high in the skies.
For some it is a harsh and feral planet. To most it is a place of survival and fear. But for some, there is peace. Living his whole life in the Desert of Mystery collecting strange trinkets that fall from the sky, Corax the billy goat has never known loss or violence.
But something is coming. Something alien. Something that will tear apart the fragile security of his life.
Something that will spell destruction for every animal on Star VII.”
Whoopsie daisies, someone forgot to upload their chapter! I’m really excited for y’all to read this one, because it introduces a couple characters that are important further into the story. Anyways, enjoy chapter 3!

Whoopsie, this theory is kinda dead in the water.
[S7 spoilers beyond this point!]
Which, after rewatching, I knew would happen.
In 6x13, Russel is explaining his escape plan to Clarke! Josephine, Simone, and the other primes. He says something I didn't catch the first time: "Assuming there are no other signal-sucking anomalies, we can access the mind drives of the other teams wirelessly from up here."
Well, from the opening sequence and the trailer and interviews before 7x01, we know for a fact that there ARE signal sucking anomalies on the other planets. So there's no way Sheidheda could have wirelessly sent himself elsewhere. Not to mention they weren't even in range-- 20 years away from the nearest planet, to be exact. So the only other thing to do is send himself to the only mind drive that is accessible from the ship-- Russel's.
Yeah, yeah, we all knew it was gonna be Russel but I wish I'd paid attention the first time to understand how. And I also find it nice to know that Russel isn't conspiring with Sheidheda against Clarke and Madi and company. Cuz... he's dead.
Good times. Can't wait to see how Sheidheda squirrels his way out of death next!
The 100 Season 7 Theory
After watching the trailer and reading some trailer analysis, I have just developed a new working theory about two of the missing pieces of the trailer: Sheidheda and Bellamy. This has far more to do with Sheidheda than Bellamy, but I'm trying to piece this together.
Remember at the end of season 6 when Sheidheda managed to upload himself... somewhere?
After knowing for a fact that the anomaly is a wormhole, and time is functioning differently, I'd like to propose that Sheidheda uploaded himself to the Eligius ship and sent himself in a transmission to any or all of the other civilizations on the other planets.
It seems clear to me based on Hope's appearance as a young adult, as well as Echo's evolving state of appearance in the trailer, and Octavia's whole other life in the Anomaly that we don't quite know about yet, that time passes faster on any one of, or all of, those other planets than it did on Earth/does on Sanctum (either that or the Anomaly ages things... which has been known to happen but I still wanna roll with my theory as it crumbles before I even get the chance to say it).
What if Sheidheda, after sending himself as a transmission to one of the other groups of people in this string of planets, has been able to cultivate a desire to take control of Sanctum over a long period of time on another planet, while only a day or so has passed in Sanctum?
I think it makes enough sense, except I don't understand how Octavia's time in the Anomaly in S6 made her so important before Sheidheda "arrived" on any other planet.
Bellamy's involvement hinges on Octavia's importance, I think that's clear. But what made me think of it was @sometimesrosy 's recent post analyzing part of the trailer that references Bellamy being "the key" in the tags. And that Clarke is the "queen" going to save the "king," as in a game of chess.
Other than the fact that chess has been referenced a dozen times throughout the duration of the series, our most recent interaction with the idea was in Madi's mind, with Sheidheda.
-
as i continue to think about this theory i feel like it has some merit to it but doesn't make sense considering the plausible theory about Sheidheda conspiring with Russel this season. i like that theory but the only thing i can't get on board with is how they meet and how Sheidheda enters Russel's mindspace. so there's a how for ya. they probably join together far later in the season. this show is known to have more than one working villain at a time, so it makes sense to have Sheidheda, Russel, and Octavia's villains on the other planets. bonus if they're all working together by the end of the season.
#The 100#The 100 Season 7#theory debunked#but that's okay#the quick scene with Sheidheda blew me away#very good#also Eliza is a queen#but we all knew that too

I am so interested in and happy about Sam and Cas's friendship. Like, they just quietly and subtly went through so much relationship development the past few years. Interesting to me because from the get-go, Cas was closer to Dean and I don't think Sam was used to not being the favored one and the one ppl were drawn to. And in those early years we know he felt threatened by their bond. Then they were mainly just connected through Dean. But now they have a genuine bond and deep friendship<3
Hi there! I know I’ve been sitting on this message for a while now (sorry about that, out of town and then sick and FINALLY feeling good enough to reply to stuff coherently... sort of... :P)
I think Sam’s known for a long time just how important Cas is. I spent the last week rewatching s6 and the beginning of s7, and even soulless, Sam did everything in his power to manipulate Cas into helping them in 6.10 (for example). Sure, that’s not a great example of Sam and Cas’s bond as friends, but there were extenuating circumstances there...
Even in 6.21, AFTER Sam learned that Cas was the one who brought him back soulless (and forgave him, because it HAD been an accident), and knew that Cas had been working with Crowley behind their backs all season long to do something absolutely horrible (crack Purgatory in a power grab), Sam STILL was the one to call out to Cas begging for help...
SAM: Castiel, it's Sam. Um, so look, I don't know if you're in on this whole Ben-Lisa thing, but if you have any heart whatsoever, bring 'em back to us, man. C'mon. Please. I'm begging you. I am begging you, do you understand? (Sam looks around. Nothing. He scoffs. As he walks away, Castiel is standing next to him, unseen.)
He could see that Dean had nothing left, had resorted to torturing demons for information to try and save Lisa and Ben. Crowley had what he wanted (Dean and Sam running around too busy to interfere with his and Cas’s plans). We all know how that ended, with Cas breaking Sam’s wall which led directly to the events of 6.22, and Cas taking on all the souls of Purgatory (including the pesky Leviathans).
In 7.01, DESPITE ALL OF THAT ^^, despite Cas deliberately breaking Sam in the most horrifying way possible, SAM AGAIN PRAYS TO CAS. Sam sees how hurt Dean is, Sam’s living through his own hallucinogenic Hell-o-Vision nightmare, and still he calls out for Cas. AFTER DEATH HIMSELF told Cas he was practically beyond hope, and that they only had one chance to make any of this right, Sam is the one insisting that THEIR Cas is still in there, that he’s not beyond help.
DEAN: I mean, we can't bring the horse to water, and we can't make it drink. Why fool ourselves?SAM: Dean, look, I know you think that Cas is gone --DEAN: It's 'cause he is.SAM: He's not! He's in there somewhere, Dean. I know it.DEAN: No, you don't.SAM: No, I don't. But, look, I was pretty far gone sometimes myself, and you never gave up on me.
And then he prays:
SAM: Hey, Castiel. Um... Maybe this is pointless. Look... I don't know if any part of you even cares, but, um, I still think you're one of us, deep down. I mean, way, way, way off the reservation, but... Look, we still have till dawn to stop this. Let us help. Please.
All because Sam understands. He may not be able to identify with the scope of Cas’s problem right then, but he definitely understands what’s at the root of it. Doing the wrong thing for what you believe are the right reasons is basically s4 Sammy all the way, you know? Drinking demon blood thinking it’s what was necessary to kill Lilith and stop the apocalypse? Despite everyone telling him not to? Only to discover that killing Lilith was the final key to STARTING the apocalypse? Whoopsie?
Sam gets it. He understands exactly where Cas is at.
Then in 9.11, Cas turns that back around on Sam:
Castiel: The only person who has screwed things up more consistently than you...is me. And now I know what that guilt feels like. And I know what it... I know what it means to feel sorry, Sam. I am sorry.
If nothing else, the two of them do understand each other and share similar burdens. Granted a lot of that gets shot to heckeroo with the horrible lengths they go to in dealing with MoC and then Demon Dean, but by the end of s11 Sam is seeing Cas in a very different light. After watching what both Dean and Cas went through via the whole Lucifer and Amara nonsense...
And in s12, Sam’s ready to stand beside Dean to defend Cas as a brother, you know? But there’s still that element of difference between Sam’s relationship with Cas and Dean’s relationship with Cas. I’m just glad that Sam and Cas have come to this point where they not only understand one another and sympathize with one another, but they really feel like they trust and care for one another. I can’t wait to see how all of this develops in s13.
#but what about sastiel#i know i have tags for that but i'll be goshdarned if i can ever remember what they are :P#Anonymous
